Wolverhampton Mayor Visit to Club

The Mayor of Wolverhampton,  councillor Sandra Samuels, made her visit to the club on 26th July along with her consort Karl. She was made very welcome and supported by a turnout of 26 Rotarians. She is a member of Rotary herself in the Bilston club so no stranger to our organisation.

As is always the case, she was made an honorary member of our club as Mayor. She outlined her plans for her year in office which were very well received and we in turn offered our support in her endeavours.

She is no stranger to us here at RC City of Wolverhampton having attended our centenary year celebrations, and more recently our Best Foot Forward at Aldersley Leisure Village. She also featured in the press release this week where all four of the Wolverhampton Rotary clubs were financial support to the recently arrived Ukrainian refugees. She noted that the diversity of our club was a welcome step towards a more fairer society.

It was a very satisfactory meeting and one on which we all played a part in.

President Sylvia.
